Prayer time

Eunice is learning how to pray for a missionary, teacher, one of her friends, family members and grandparents from her Awana Club.

Last night, her prayer was like this. "Our Heavenly Father, peace be with Adrian and Ella's family; peace be with Mrs. Sei; peace be with Megan; peace be with daddy, mommy and Isaac and peace be with grandma and grandpa. In Jesus' name, Amen." I felt so funny. Then I tried to ask her to pray more specific.

On the other hand, when Isaac prayed last night, he prayed. "Our Heavenly Father, pray for our classmates have good health and no coughing. In Jesus' name, Amen."

I find that if I teach Eunice something, Isaac will learn at the same time. So I have to be really careful what I told Eunice and how Eunice behaves. Isaac will learn the same thing.

Pizza Day

Daddy had a Pizza Day at work. Eunice and Isaac were very curious how many would daddy eat. When daddy called home around noon time, Isaac asked him questions about the Pizza Day.
Isaac asked, "Daddy, how many slices of pizza do you have?"
Daddy answered, "I have 4 slices."
Isaac asked, "How about Uncle Ron? (Uncle Ron shared the office with Andrew. We went to his house once.)"
Daddy answered, "He has 5 slices."
Isaac said, "So many..."

When Eunice came back from school in the afternoon, she asked daddy the following questions about the Pizza Day.
Eunice asked, "Daddy, how many slices of pizza do you have?"
Daddy answered, "I have 4."
Eunice asked, "How about Uncle Ron?"
Daddy answered, "He has 5."
Eunice said with a smile, "So many..."

Andrew and I just laughed because they just asked the exactly the same questions and it was so funny.

The month of February... SICK

February was a very busy month for our family. Isaac got a cold and was coughing on Feb 2nd. We went to the Children Hospital ER at 3:00am and stayed until 5:00am. It was a tough day for Andrew because he had to go to work. Isaac was away from school for 3 days. He was getting better for 1 week. Then he got cold again. I really did not know when and how he got the cold. I was so tired. I just prayed that he would get well soon. The second time he got the cold. We went to the Children Hospital ER again on my birthday day (Feb 16th) at 7:00pm. We arrived the ER at 7:30pm and waited until 8:30pm to get a room for Isaac. He stayed in the hospital ER for 4 hours until almost 12:30am. He was again away from school for 4 days.

On the day that he went back to school, I began to sick. I was vomiting in the middle of the night 4 times. My stomach and tummy were so pain that I was hardly going to sleep. I still remembered my dream on that night was someone was trying to feed me all night long. I refused to eat and then I woke up and I felt the pain in my tummy. Then I fell asleep again and again with the same dream. So scary!!!! The next morning, I dropped off Isaac to school and Eunice to the dentist's office with my weak body. I did not eat or drink but thanks God I could drive... After I picked up Isaac from school, we went back home. Eunice and Isaac went upstairs to draw pictures in Eunice's room. I slept for 1 hours. They came down and asked for lunch. I made lunch and fruits for Isaac and Eunice. Then I turned on the TV Treehouse. I told Eunice and Isaac, "Mommy is very sick. When you finish your lunch, please have your fruit. Then watch TV for a little while and let me sleep. OK?" They were very very very good. They let me sleeping for almost 2 hours. I was feeling better that I could drive Eunice to the Chinese class at 4:00pm. When I went back home, I was vomiting again 2 times. Isaac was so good that he stayed in Eunice's room to draw pictures and read books. I was sleeping again. Andrew came home and picked up Eunice from Chinese class and had dinner with the kids.

It was a sick month for both Isaac and me. However, I still thanks God for all this because my loving daughter and son were so considerable. They cared about me. My loving son has been praying for me during my sickness. My daughter told me that I have to get well and don't die. She took good care of Isaac while I was sick. My husband did all the housework and took care of the two kids including feeding them, having shower for them, making them to sleep etc...

3 more days before March... No more sickness... Stay healthy...

Our Bird Bird passed away

We had Bird Bird for 5 1/2 years. It flew to our backyard in June 2003. At that time, it was so tired and could not move. Andrew picked it up and covered it with a milk case and gave it some water to drink. I was carrying Eunice in my tummy. I never had a pet before and I felt so special with a new baby and new pet at the same time. After having Bird Bird, we had to buy a cage, bird seeds, some decoration etc... It has been our family members since then. Eunice and Isaac were so happy to have Bird Bird. Sometimes they went to the cage and talked to it or sang a song to it or scolded it... but Eunice and Isaac always remember to remind me to feed Bird Bird especially when we bought some fresh vegetables. Bird Bird loved vegetables leaves.

When I opened the cover of the cage on Dec 31, 08, it laid flat on the cage ground. I was so surprised and sad. We knew that the life span of this kind of bird is about 6-7 years. I did not expect the time was really here without any sign. I finally picked it up and put it in a Christmas tin. With Eunice and Isaac we prayed a short prayer. Eunice and Isaac asked many questions such as why would Bird Bird die; where was Bird Bird now; when would it come back; is it with God and Angels and Jesus and Godfather Garry???????

After Bird Bird passed away, Eunice drew a few pictures with it in our family. Isaac asked me whether we could buy 2 Bird Bird (one in blue and one in green).

It reflects me how precious to spend the time now with family members especially you don't know when will the "time" comes. No one knows only God know. By the grace of God, we live each day and I should make use of it.

Poor Andrew...

Look at the thickness on top of our outdoor storage bin...

Say " Hi " to Andrew...

Since it was snowing almost 2 weeks, Andrew has to shovel all the time even the top of our car port...

Snow... Snow

It has been snowing since Dec 17,08. Eunice's second last day of school. I had a hard time driving her to school; walking down to school; walking back up to our van; picking her up again from school etc... However, Eunice and Isaac were having a great time because of the snow. They were playing snow ball fight; making snow angels; tasting the snow... When I saw them having great fun, I was so pleased that God gave us Eunice and Isaac. They are really our loving angels.

First time with Eunice alone...

Today is a very special day. Sept 12, 2008. Nothing really special for most of you but this is very special for Eunice and me. I am dating with Eunice. HAHAHAHA!

Studying at VCS for Kindergarten for Eunice only has to attend class on Mon, Wed and alternate Friday. Today is Eunice's day off. Yeah! Yesterday, Eunice and I talked about what we should do during Isaac is at school... However, we didn't come up anything.

Eunice woke up at 7:00am this morning (normally at 7:30 - 7:45am and I have to wake her up). She came to my room and slept with me. She could not fall back to sleep. Then at 8:00am, everyone woke up and got ready for school. After breakfast, we went to Isaac's school. Eunice was so happy to see all the old teachers. Hug and laugh and talk about the school etc.... After dropping off Isaac, I asked Eunice whether she would like to go to Metrotown. She thought for a few seconds then she said Ok. She continued to ask whether she could go to Disney Store. She was so happy and excited in the van as I drove to Metrotown. I haven't seen her so happy before. Then we walked by DQ and bought a juice to drink. Went up to Disney Store. She was so excited. Actually she has been Disney store for so many times. This time was so special because it was without Isaac and daddy. She touched almost everything and watched the TV and played the toys. When I told her to leave, she was so ready and no whinning.

Then we went to Superstore to buy a few things and went to McDonald's for kid's meals for lunch. She was cheerful, helpful and I enjoyed the time with her alone too. Isaac was born when Eunice was 1 1/2. After that, she always has Isaac besides her which is good for both of them. However, I find out that I don't have much time for Eunice because when she went to school, I was with Isaac. Never have a special mom-daughter time with her for 3 1/2 years. This year God is so good to us that Eunice goes into VCS and she just need to attend school for Mon/Wed. Then I have more time to be with her alone. At first, I think it is not good to go to school only on Mon/Wed/alternate Friday. But now I like it very much. Thanks God! Hopefully I can have more time with Eunice to build a stronger relationship with her.

Ready to "Back to School"

When you go to the shopping mall, you will see "Back to School" everywhere. Are you ready? Maybe you are or maybe you are not.

As a mother of two, I am not quite ready for both of my kids "Back to School". HAHAHA!!! Eunice is going to the new school (VCS) on Sept 3 and same as Isaac is going to a new place (Brainbridge) on the same day. Eunice's schedule is 8:45 - 12:00 and Isaac's 9:30 - 11:00 for the first 2 weeks on Mon, Wed and Fri. After the first two weeks, they will be in full schedule. Eunice is from 8:45 - 3:00pm and Isaac is 9:15 - 11:45am. It seems to me that I have almost 2 1/2 hrs "kids free". On the other hand, I miss them a lot because both of them go to school together and leave me "alone" at home. Although I will have a lot of housework to do, I will not have Eunice or Isaac to call "mom .... " or Isaac is playing alone or Eunice is drawing on the table etc... There will be an adjustment for me as well as Eunice and Isaac. Of course, as an adult, it will be easier and faster to adjust. I talked to one of Eunice's pre-school teacher about my feeling. Then she said she never think about this on a mother's eyes. She said that you may be more cherish the time with them after school.

Have you ever cherish the time with your parents after school or work? They may miss you while you are away from them. May be we should spend some quality time with them!

New Morning schedule for Eunice and Isaac

After two weeks holiday for Eunice, she was back to Summer Program on Monday morning. I was so surprised that she woke up early morning without crying and was very eager to go to school to see her schoolmates and teachers.

I asked Eunice to brush her teeth and get dressed to school by herself. At the same time, I tried to wake Isaac up. It was a little bit early for Isaac but he was OK. Then we went downstairs and I prepared the breakfast and snacks for Eunice. Then Isaac came to me and asked, " Mom, what do I have for snacks? " Eeeee... I told Isaac a few times that he will go to school in the morning in Sept. Then I said, "The snack is for Eunice not you. You still have 3 more weeks." He seems like understood what I was talking about... After he finished his breakfast, I held Eunice's backpack to Eunice. I saw Isaac was packing the toy snack into his backpack. Then I asked, " What are you doing, Isaac? " "I am packing my snack and show it to the teacher..." Isaac answered as he asked me to help him to put on his backpack... Eeeeee... I smiled and knew that he did not understood when is "SEPT" or "3 more weeks".

After dropping off Eunice to school, Isaac and I went to the nearby playground "Bobolink Park" to play for a while. Isaac enjoyed playing the slide and swing for about 1/2 hour and we went back home. Since Eunice was attending the Senior Preschool from last September, she was having the class in the afternoon. It means that she always play with Isaac in the morning. I think Isaac got used to have Eunice around him. This two mornings, he kept on calling me as Eunice. He missed Eunice a lot. When Eunice came back home from school, he kept on asking Eunice to play with him. What a loving brother and sister!

O Canada

We went down to Canada Place on Canada day by bus and skytrain. Eunice and Isaac were so excited about the transportation. They never ride a bus before. The weather was perfect for a bus and skytrain ride. The skytrain was full of people. When we arrived the Canada Place, I felt like I was in HK. So many people!!! Eunice was very excited but Isaac was not. He kept on asking me to carry him. Our whole family never to go Canada Place to celebrate Canada Day. It was quite interesting. Line up everywhere for free stuffs like tatoos, pin, map, flag, play, drink, cake etc... The most interesting thing that attracted us was the force army display. Eunice took some pictures with the soldiers. I think it was a good experience for them.

Easter Egg Hunt

This was the second year we went to have the Easter Egg Hunt. It was interesting because last year we were playing outdoor but this year we have to do it indoor. Not as fun as last year but it was OK for the kids. When Isaac stepped in the community centre, the first thing that he spotted was the floor hockey. He quickly picked up the stick and started playing.

Step 1: Look for the goalie...

Step 2: Start playing...

Step 3: Score... !!! Yeah!!!

The Use of Drumsticks

My kids have lots of ideas on using the drumstick. They used the drumsticks to bang on the drum set. Some of usages are the bow of the violin, Isaac's sword, a magic wand etc...

Family Gathering

Aunt Mandy, Uncle Lawrence and cousin Desmond came from Toronto to celebrate Christmas and New Year with us this year. Eunice and Isaac were so excited about Desmond's arrival. They arrived Vancouver on Dec 21 night (the night that Eunice was not feeling well). When Eunice woke up the next morning, she asked whether Desmond was in Vancouver or not. I told her that Desmond was here but they were going to the snow mountain. She begged Desmond and Aunt Mandy to come to our house first so that she could see Desmond. When they arrived our house, Eunice changed her crying face to a happy face. I thought she was so happy that she forgot all her stomach pain.

After a few days, she was fine and went to play with her cousins and joined all the family dinner gathering.

Winnie & Katherine

This was a very special day. I brought Eunice and Isaac to Metrotown to meet Winnie & Katherine. We went to T & T at Metrotown to buy some food for the hot pot dinner at Kit's place in the morning. Then we had lunch at the food court. I bought cucumber sushi and noodles for Eunice and Isaac. Eunice requested to have curried fried from Arby's. I went to buy some for her. They were so happy. After lunch, I drove them back to our house and played for a while. Eunice and Isaac took a short nap. When they woke up and saw Winnie and Katherine were still in our house, they were so happy and wanted to play with them. They played "London bridge is falling down". Run and Run. What a happy day!

Christmas Tree

This year we set up the Christmas tree for Christmas. We haven't done it for 4 years. When we brought the tree out, Isaac and Eunice were so excited. They sat down quietly looking at us. They helped us to put the decoration on the tree. At last we turned all the light off and switched on the Christmas tree lighting. They were wow. "Amazing! So Beautiful!" We put the gate around the tree just in case they pull the tree down.

Church Walkathon

Our whole family joined the Church Walkathon this year. It was a very beautiful day with a very nice Sun. Thanks God for the weather. Andrew got a bicycle from his co-worker for Eunice. We bought a new Princess Helmet for her.

We took the shortest path 1.9km. This is the first time for Eunice to ride on a bicycle. She was excited. It took a while for her to know how to control the bike. I had to carry Isaac as his "bicycle".

This is a nice picture for Winnie and Isaac.

Kings & Queens

Our Kings and Queens were sitting on the sofa singing songs...

They were watching their favourite show... Barney. That's why I had the chance to take the group picture.
