Eunice's missing tooth

Eunice has a loose tooth for a few months already. This few days she complained about the loose tooth all the time. Every time when she want to chew something, the loose tooth was hurt. So we told her to eat something soft and don't eat chips or something hard to chew. She refused.

On Saturday night, we went out for dinner after Awana Club. In the middle of the meal, she cried and complained about the loose tooth again. This time, the blood was coming out from the loose tooth area. We asked the waiter to get some ice water and Eunice drank it. She felt better. She still could finishing her dinner.

After Sunday School on Sunday, she was holding the rice krisper. She was so enjoy the rice kripser that she also forgot her loose tooth. However, when she came to the table for lunch, same thing happened. She complained about the loose tooth again. I took a look on her tooth and found out it was really loose. So I asked Eunice to give it a little push. It was still here. Then I give a little more push... The tooth came out. Eunice yelled and said "Yeah! I have a missing tooth.... lalalalala... I am the same as Jennie (her schoolmate) lalalala...." She was so happy about the missing tooth and Isaac wanted to take a look of it too.

After a while, Isaac told me that he wanted a missing tooth too... So silly boy!

Since then, Eunice was so happy and enjoyed all her food....

Eunice's Eye operation - 1 week after

Eunice's eyes were very good according to the doctor's comment. Her eyes were looking straight when the doctor did the tests. I told the doctor that Eunice's right eye lid was red. The doctor said that it was normal when I stopped using the eye drops. The recovery was so amazing that even the doctor could not believe it. She just held up her thumb and said "Perfect". Thanks God for all His goodness on Eunice.

We still have a few follow up appointment in Oct (one month after the operation) and then 3 months after the operation. I am so glad that we are in Canada because the government medical plan covers all the expenses. Otherwise, I can't imagine how much we will spend on Eunice and Isaac's medical expenses.

Eunice still can't run and jump around for this few weeks. She needs to learn how to be a gentle girl ("like a princess" =p )

Eunice's Operation Day 1

Eunice's operation day was on Sept 1st at 11:00am. She couldn't have food after midnight and only water or apple juice before 8:00am. After 8:00am, no food or drink for Eunice.

When we arrived the BC Children Hospital, Eunice remembered the place that she had been here before. Then she cried and said that she didn't want to go in. Just 1 minute later, she was OK.

Being in the waiting room was not easy for Eunice. She looked around and and around. I brought a coloring activities book and color pencils for her to color. Besides, there was a TV game for the kids to play. We spent about 1 1/2 hours in here.

Eunice was using a new method of "sleeping" by putting a mask instead of using the needle. I could go into the operation with her until she fell asleep. Thanks God about that because Eunice kept on asking me whether I could go into operation room or not. By using the new method, I could go into with her to talk to her so that the nurses could put on the mask and let her fell asleep. It was much easier for both of us.

After 6-7 hours staying in hospital, we could go home.

Isaac was in grandma's house for the whole day and behaved excellent. He had dim sum with grandma; played toys with his cousins; took showers with his aunt; had dinner with grandma. He was excited to come back home and gave me a big big squeeze hug.

This was the first day.

Eunice's 2nd Operation

Last night Andrew asked me whether Eunice would be afraid of the eye surgery or not. I told him that I did not know. When I did not know whether Eunice will be afraid or not, I am worried even though it is not the first time for Eunice. I know some of the predicted reactions that may happen to Eunice.

This morning, I asked Eunice, "Eunice, you will have the operation tomorrow. Are you afraid?" She answered me peacefully, "No." I am not sure whether she remembered her last operation or not but I am sure that she understand more this time. I mentioned to her that she will fall asleep before she will go in the operation room. Then when she wake up, her blanket and "CC Mickey" will be with her. Then she said "OK!"

Pray for her operation will be smooth and successful and also put Dr. Rees (her eye specialist) in God's hands that she will have wisdom and strength to do the operation.

Also pray for Eunice's recovery that she is willing to have the eye drops after the operation.

Also pray for Isaac that he needs to stay with grandma for the whole day and be a good boy.

Finally pray for Andrew and I have extra patience to take care of Eunice.
